Where Have We Been?

Hello Readers!

I hope all of you have been having a wonderful year so far!  I wanted to do a little update on what we have been up to.

The kids and I are living in southern California not far from Los Angeles.  Brae is in 7th grade and Gavin is in Transitional Kindergarten.  We are living in a cute little apartment in a rural area of the desert. We love the quiet out here but miss the greenery and looming trees of northern CA.  Well, I do, Brae loves it here and doesn’t want to leave.  I, on the other hand, cannot wait to move somewhere else.  For now, we are staying here until we decide where we want to go next.  Tom is no longer living with us.  He and I eventually separated and are beginning the divorce process.  It was a decision that took years to come to, and I gave our marriage everything I had, but it just wasn’t meant to work out.  I learned so much from Tom and I do wish him the very best in his own endeavors.

I have missed blogging so much the past couple years and I’m finally in a position where I can start again!  I am making a few changes.  I will continue writing about cooking and family, but I want to write more about self-improvement, living a full and joyful life, minimalism and traveling.  Mostly I want my blog to be about living a full and joyful life.  I want to teach others how to bring more peace, gratitude and joy in their lives.  I hope you will stick around to see how things develop this year!

I live in the high desert outside of Los Angeles in southern California with my 14-year-old daughter and my 6 yr old son. I love to help people, which is why I am a teacher! I find so much joy in helping others create a life they love. This little blog is about food. Growing it, cooking it and eating it! I hope it inspires you to try something new and stretch yourself!

  1. Hello Melissa, I’ve been wondering over the past few years whether you’ll be blogging again and am happy to see you back! Looking forward to new posts from you.
